To sign in to HBO Max on your TV, open the app, choose Sign In, then enter the 6-digit code from your TV screen at hbomax.com/tvsignin on your phone or computer. You won’t need to type your email and password with a TV remote.

Before you start

  • The HBO Max app is installed on your TV device (smart TV, streaming player, or game console).
  • You have a phone or computer with a web browser nearby.
  • You know your HBO Max account email, or you’re already signed in to HBO Max on your phone or computer.

Enter your TV code

Open HBO Max and choose Sign In

On your TV, open the HBO Max app and choose Sign In. Already signed in to another account? Choose the Settings icon (lower left) and then Sign Out first.

Keep the code screen open

Stay on the TV screen that shows the QR code and the 6-digit code. Don’t press back, or the code may change.

Go to the sign-in page

On your phone or computer, open a browser and go to hbomax.com/tvsignin. The official HBO Max help center lists this page as HBOMax.com/signin.

Type the 6-digit code

Enter the code exactly as it appears on your TV. If you’re already signed in at HBOMax.com, you’re signed in on your TV automatically.

Sign in to your account

If prompted, enter your HBO Max account email, choose Continue, then enter your password or the one-time code sent to your email.

Choose who's watching

Your TV updates automatically. Pick a profile and start streaming.
Codes expire after a short time. If yours stops working, go back on your TV and choose Sign In again to get a fresh code.
